I was looking at the Springfield gi model and nearly fell in love with it for it feels perfect and just right in my hand. Plus i am a fan of all steel. And then her super hot sister showed up, plush, younger, and tighter ( I mean the fit of the pistol wink wink ) the Springfield 1911 a-1 Loaded version.... I paid in full and now picking it up in 2 more days WOOOT!

I'm sorry, but my vote has already been tabulated. You can disagree with my opinion, but not my vote.

So if I were to pick up an Ithaca, which I agree, would be awesome. How much do they run for a shooter? Would I be better off with the SA for the $$$?

It would be a little difficult for me to have an Ithaca to use as a shooter. They are kind of "collectible".

The SA is a good 1911. I have an old parkerized I used in competition (and have rebuilt numerous times). At last count, it had over 18,000 rounds through it and is still one of my better and accurate shooters.

New SA. I bought it in 1985.

Looks like the SA G.I..45 is the way to go, just have to pick up a set of bakelite grips for it.

Thanks for your help guys.

You're welcome. Also if you're interested here is the link to one of my buddy's videos on it.

PS- He swapped out the trigger and mainspring housing for a long trigger and flat mainspring housing.

I'm a big fan of Mr. Hickok45, he does some really good reviews on alot of different firearms His vids helped sell me on the Ruger SR9c and SR1911
