If you really want a bad-assed gun, buy a Springfield entry level 1911a1 and a thousand dollars worth of ammo.

By far the best 1911 is the one you have built by a competant 1911 smith. You can buy a name brand and still will end up taking it and having work done to it. Most name brand guns have MIMS parts in them and I wouldn't have a gun with those parts in them( as opposed to forged)....save yourself alot of time, money and heartache and have a competant 1911 smith build you one, it will be done right the first time, be rock solid reliable and a tack driver out of the box AND he will stand behind it for a long time.

Here's mine built from a Caspian slide and frame, all forged parts, hand fitted.

You'd be wrong again. I have considerable knowledge of SA 1911s. While generally good, there are MANY better 1911s available.

I agree the Springfield MC op that I shoot is one of the best I own, maybe out of the price range for some but I favor my Ed brown kobra and lea Baer thunder ranch.....
