Wait Time For Kimbers

Hello Folks,
Well, after doing a lot of research, I have decided to purchase a kimber.
But after checking online sources it seems a lot of other people have the same idea, and I can't find any.
Just curious, how long have other Kimber owners had to wait for theirs ?

thanks

Greg

Have you checked Master Dealers in your area? Generally part of the Master Dealer program is such that they purchase a preset amount of weapons, pretty much assuring they have stock on hand.

The longest I ever had to wait for a Kimber was around 8 or 9 weeks. That purchase was on an order from the Pro Shop. Granted, I haven't ordered one in more than a year though.

I would recommend hitting the local yellow pages and calling around.

I was quoted a 60-90 day wait on a Kimber rifle because their production for the class of 2011 has not started up yet. Don't know if it's the same thing for their pistols.

Just looked and Bud's only has 1 in stock so I suspect the 2010 inventory is probably sold. Tons of them on Gunbroker though...

Thanks for the info, I"m a little afraid of the auctions.

Gunbroker is where I found the rifle I was looking for, NIB for about $200-300 less than it could have been had at a dealer or through Kimber. Highly recommended.

I bought mine from inventory at a local dealer. OnPointFirearms.com has a limited selection in their inventory.

Not sure where you're from, but if you happen to be near the Central Florida area, Shoot Straight has tons of them. The location near my house has at least 20 different pistols. No matter your area though, I would check some of the local gun shops. One of them is bound to have some in stock.

Which model are you wanting? they make quite a few. GunBroker is a good, no BS place to buy (and sell). many dealers sell there and have new items. just check feedback, and buy. Most dealers have their contact info listed, and you can call them if you have questions. i've had good luck buying and selling there.

Thank you all for your help.
I live in N.E. IL.
I'm really having a hard time choosing a model, really like the stainless Raptor II, and the Gold Combat Stainless II.
