Hi waxman. I would recommend not getting the stock for your pistol and thus not needing to notify the ATF. Tongue in cheek as some of the responses were, I am sure that the hassle of dealing with the ATF override/counteract any fun you might have with a stock on a 1911. Hey, any constitution that acknowledges the people have a right to own weapons so that they may defend themselves -- including from an out-of-control government -- is OK by me...bkt

Waxman,
I think what the group is trying to tell you is that once you attach the shoulder stock to the pistol, it now becomes a Short Barrelled Rifle/Carbine. Because your barrel is 5", you are now in violation of Federal Law. You must have 16" of barrel to be legal. I'm no expert on this by any means, so if my fellow members would like to correct me or chime in with the actual laws/regs.....please do! |

You do have a valid point there and even though the stock would look cool i may have to for go it, because as you said id have to notify the goverment of it, and lets face it due to certain recent govt employees, cough cough the stupidty of the pelosi/obama tyranny, excuse me haha the less they know about my life the better. |
