Some of the pistol steel case ammo has a polymer coating. During strings of rapid fire, it may start out okay, but as the handgun warms up, the polymer creates FTE's in some.
Then when the polymer cools, you really have to clean up with more than solvent to remove the polymer.
While it was issued to the military, they did not shoot the handguns at the rate a competition does.

and not polymer? The lacquer issue is actually an old one, that problem has been pretty much remedied by the manufacturers. But like anything on the internet, issues never die they just get forwarded.
