They are both very nice guns. I've had my eye on the Sig Scorpion awhile so my opinion would lean towards it. You really can't go wrong with either one you choose though.

One of my LGS has the colt marine 1911 in. They just got them in and wasn't sure of the price yet. Figure I will stop by in a few days and see what they are going for.

Colt can't even sell their 1911's in MA.

I have shot several Kimber 1911's, both in .45 & 9mm and liked them all just don't like a one year warranty If a pistol is that good, why not stand behind it.

I have also shot a lot of Sigs in various calibers and models including the Scorpion (its good to work at a LGS/Range). Have liked all the classic style (read steel) Sigs and own several, P239, 226, wifey's 239 and my everday carry 1911 SS Carry in 45ACP.

All reliable and don't remember the last FTF from any of them.

Gee, I guess if I was making the choice, I would go with the Sig. JMHO & YMMV

Exactly why I will never own a Kimber. At least until they change their warranty policy.

No doubt Sig performance is top notch, however the Kimber to me seems like the better choice. If you ever need to replace the extractor and tune it just right the internal type is easier to work with especially if you plan to learn how to perform maintenance on your 1911 which you really should. Owning a 1911 is an experience in itself. Learn all you can about it and there is much to learn. Save yourself some money whenever possible with your own know how
