so far i have been very pleased with my R1. very reliable, well made and solid, very accurate and just a dang nice shooting pistol. comapred to a Colt, the finish is nicely done, but not near as polished and as deep looking as a Colt. IMO, Remington did a fine job is bringing the R1 to the market of 1911's.
You I am not a fan of stainless never have been . They are nice to look at but I don't think I would own anything stainless . But that is just me .

i have never owned a 1911 in stainless and would like to own at least one.

personally, i don't have anything against stainless steel guns, but some reason, i just don't have any or have i owned very many in the past. just seems like blued ones end up in my collection somehow!

Kimber. Isn't that located in NY? (Oops, political slant starting.)
Kimber. Isn't that the one with the 1 year warranty?

I could find space for a Sig in my safe, but not a Kimber.

Price will drop in a year or two. Colt hasn't made them readily available to the general public in mass numbers yet. When the price does come down I will be getting one!!

Not all come with a threaded barrel. My Scorpion carry 1911 is flawless. Everything about it says quality, the Kimber is also a great 1911 but I would go with the SIG. Just remember SIG 1911s dont fit standard 1911 holsters
