Tripp 1911 Mag in a mag well?

Next on my list is a 5" barreled 1911 in 45acp!

I am looking hardest at the handful of Springfield Armory 1911's that have a mag well. The Loaded Black Stainless Target and the TRP are topping my list.

Canebrake and my own experience made me into a big Tripp Research magazine supporter, but I wonder if their end plate design would do okay in a mag well, or if I have to go with Wilson mags since they don't extend out laterally like the Tripp mags do.

Help!!

I don't think you will have a problem......but......to be sure, call Aaron 877.837.9445 and ask him. :cool:

A little bird told me that Bill Wilson took design characteristics from Virgil Tripp's base pad to make his ETM.

Here's the Tripp to WC comparison;

My impression of the WC ETM was that they were trying very hard to respond to the base level quality of the Tripp Research mags. Thanks so much for those photos, Cane! I knew that the Tripp mag's floor plate had that different shape and wondered if it would fit.

It looks very much like it will. Thank you for the suggestion to call Aaron at Tripp to make sure, once I decide on which 1911 to buy. I do know I want a mag well, though!

Thanks, Cane, AGAIN!
