I've owned a 3" RIA 1911CS like yours for a bit over a year. I love it. In fact, it's one of my favorite carry guns. It's reliable and eats anything I feed it including several hundred cast semi-wadcutters without a hitch.

One thing you might consider is opening up those government-spec sights a bit. I found that taking a needle file to my rear sight and opening the notch by about .010" made it much easier to see the front sight and align them.

Default RIA's Rock

I'm a big fan of the RIA 1911's. I have had a compact model for about 2 yrs and also have a full size since March. I have not been a gun enthusiast for more than about 6 years and have had a Taurus and a Kahr but niether can match the quality and accuracy of the 1911's

Compact (CS)

and the full size:

Are they Nighthawks? NO Are they Wilsons? NO They aren't meant to be high-dollar show (off) animals. But for the price, you won't find a better, more accurate, more reliable weapon.
