I have a Springfield mil spec 1911 A1... I have run 400 rnds thru it with good luck but today I bought some 200 gr hornady + p... I shot 2 rnds and the second failed to feed completely... I finally got it to load
.. fired it fte... now my thumb safety will not engage ... ideas????
All other ammo has been 230 gr

Well... simple really... I had previously installed the ambi thumb safety... and they come where you have to do some filing to get them to fit OK... so I'm thinking I hadn't quite taken enough material off ... my safety was a little stiff... I think the failure put a bit of a bind on my gun just enough to make it not function...

I took it apart looked everything over and took just a bit more material off the safety and now it functions great...
