While the 10mm mags may
work with the .40S&W, don't count on them being reliable as most .40 mags have a spacer in back.
A better investment, IMHO, would be a reloading setup. Reload your spent 10mm brass and practice for cheaper than you can buy .40.
You have a 1911, and so far as I know, Dan Wesson doesn't use special rifling. Therefore, you could get into casting bullets and save even more.
