Defaulttaurus pt100 vs other taurus 1911 sizes??

I'm in love with its size and its 5" barrel compared to the 4.25" in the others. It comes in a .40 and holds 11 shots I believe. I was looking into the .45 and the .38 version but as far as I know all other sizes have the 4.25" barrel and I'm looking for the 5". So should I stick with the pt100 or does anyone have a suggestion as far as this series
Thanks much

The pt100 is not a 1911.

The PT100 is a clone of the Beretta 96 series. One of the very few Taurii that I'd be willing to own. I've had 2 PT92s (the 9mm version) and they're nice guns.

They ain't 1911s though. This is a 1911 (1st gen Kimber Gold Match):

DefaultPt101-af

Just got back from the range. Had to try out my new PT 101 AF in 40SW. Felt pretty good. Snappy little guy. Fired both single and double action. Ran off about thirty rounds. It's a shame that no one had keys to the range lights. Had to cut my session short. My impressions are; felt good, I liked it. No errors filling or emptying the 10round clip.(have another on the way, and will get more if this one works) I have large hands, and the grip fit like a glove. Might have to round off the lower part of the trigger guard. It digs into the top of my middle finger a little. Might be the way I hold it. I was shooting Federal Prem LE ammunition. 180gr HST(tactical)in 40SW. I'll have find something lighter and less expensive. While examining the ejected brass, I noticed a slight buldge at the base of all the spent brass. First I thought it was the light, but the silver mirror-like finish was definatelly buldged out slightly. Is this normal? Well, I'll try to get out during day-light hours, with another kind of ammo, tomorrow. Other than that , I like the gun. It performed perfectly. Dis-assembled and cleaned easily. Went back together and function checked perfectly. The way that the barrel locks into the slide is nice. Maintains the same barrel-sight relation until fired. I dug up a holster that was from one of my tac-vests. Made a few "engineering updates", and now we're good to go!
Will add pictures soon...
