Defaultcan't speak for the RIA

But my nephew bought one about 7 years ago the Taurus Model: 1191109 when he bought his it was 519 maybe 550 but this model has a whole lot of extras included, he's never had a problem with it shoots it about every week or 2 (he reloads) like his Daddy. In his hands it's a tack driver (young eyes) I like it and have consider it but my next one will be a Commander model got to get one of those 4 1/4" barrels Here's a link tothat Taurus

If I were in the market for an entry level 1911 I'd be all over that Palmetto State Armory RIA deal like white on a clansman!

DefaultRocks rock!

IMHO, get the Rock. They are inexpensive, dependable and standard. So many guns have gone custom, that they are not even 1911's anymore. There is great comfort in knowing that if something goes wrong, any gs can probably fix it or has the part. A good 1911 will last forever if left alone. When we start monkeying around is when we get into unknown territory.
Get the Rock. leave it alone, and be happy.
