Got about 5500 rounds through my stainless Taurus and its still great. Just sent it off for some modifications. Removing the ambi safety and proprietary hammer, new fiber optic front site, new adjustable rear site, and a complete beadblast finish. Should have it back by the new year.

Yeah really, I a new in the box Kimber pro carry ll and it was just a expensive paper weight,it had the external extractor and it jammed every 3 or 5 round no matter what mag i used. I had a lot of issues till I sent it to kimber and they finally replaces the slide so it was fixed when I traded it for the Taurus PT 1911. I just did a strait trade on it too. I only gave $740 for the kimber and they wanted $850 for the Taurus. so we just swapped and I got a few boxes of shells too. Then to the range lots of rounds down range and no problems at all.

I think if I were you, I'd leave out the prices on your deal. I'd want to know what kind of drugs someone was smoking to want $840 for a Taurus. That's effing ridiculous! You can buy them very lightly used for $500 to $600 all day long. The black ones are even selling for $450. I wouldn't recommend posting that on other forums or risk being eaten alive! I like Taurus 1911s and even I can't believe that!

I liked mine real well. Had to dimple the slide stop slightly where it contacts the plunger because it would bounce up and lock the slide back with ammo in it. Also had to polish the feedramp. Great pistol for about three thousand rounds. My buddy liked mine so much he bought a copy of it. I just replaced his extractor and he has only like 6 hundred rounds through it.
