No "ding" intended...just a question about grip style relating to recoil management and accuracy.

Excellent pictures of a fun family outing. Thanks for sharing.

Now I have a question:

Having a second run at the 1911 platform Mema, what are your views now?

Ones with larger guns show this type of support ^.
Even with the smaller guns, the teacup grip because the non-dominant hand provides no assistance in recoil control...and I was wondering; since you did both, did you find yourself shooting better with one way vs the other?
If so, which way? And did you find one grip more comfortable than the other (where perceived recoil is concerned)?
Actually I started out the day with the teacup but by the second or third magazine I was holding it the other way. It had just been so long since I really did any shooting that I had forgotten, yes I know that I should not have but I did. Jim corrected me and I had much better targets after that.

I noticed that when I was posting it and just wondered who would be the first to call me on it. LOL

While I still do not like the Para Ordnance I will reserve judgement on the 1911, I just need to get some shootin friends to come up so that I can try a regular 1911. I did shoot well with the Para but did not like the large grip handle. I am willing to say that it may be a natural shooter and that I may even get to like them.

My rule is to shoot what you like, and like what you shoot. If the 1911 is not for you, then by all means, move on to the next firearm.

Problem solved.

Default family shooting

It warms my heart to see familes shooting together. My family went out to the range and my Grand Daughter brought her new boyfriend. Her Uncle and I tested him on various guns and he even wanted to shoot some big magnums. Did it successfully too. We told Grand Daughter that he was a keeper. Just to show how well he fit into our family we showed him our 5 Classic cars and he ooohhhed and ahhhhhed over them. Told us about his Fathers Mopar (Dodge Charger) That was the final test and If GrandDaughter doesn't marry him we will adopt him. LOL
Great pictures mema thanks a lot for letting us be a part of your family.

My wife is a blonde - small hands. She learned to shoot with a Smith revolver. Went to a Smith 669 9mm. Now she has a Springfield 1911 single stack, a little trigger work on it - she shoots small groups with it and loves it. I can't talk her out of it, so I'll have to get my own.
