STI Products

I recently bought a STI guardian for CCW, still breaking it in . Was wondering if any one else has any of their products and how do you like them?:D

Never owned one but a buddy in Atlanta was an STI dealer so I've looked them over very well. Nice fit & finish and they look to be quality guns. At that price point, most are comparable to each other - it's just a matter of what appeals to you...

I doubt that you'll need to go 30 yards or beyond with a CCW. Just my opinion. I've read alot about STI and inspected a few....very good quality products.

kano???

Thirty yards??? CCW???

What we need here is a paradigm shift!

CCW IS fight shooting, NOT competition shooting.

In CCW, thirty yards isn't personal defense, it's hunting!

What the problem is??

He is asking about this weapon that is going to be carrying.....

Now, on to issues at hand....

STI has two lines of weapons. Their entry level and their competition geared level.

On the entry level guns, they do use MIM parts, on their competition guns I do not believe that to be the case.

There is nothing wrong with MIM parts, but for me, personally, I will not carry a weapon for personal defense that has them. That is personal opinion.

I believe the Guardian is the skeletal trigger, cast frame model. If that is the case, I believe you probably have a few MIM parts in there, but I do not know for sure.

For average carry and for average range time, I am betting the weapon will perform flawlessly and be a great exition to your arsenal.

I would recommend having it looked over if you want to feed it a steady and healthy diet of +P ammo - but for basic range work and carry, it should perform as advertised.

Looking forward to a Range Report.

An STI Guardian has just under a 4-inch barrel. He mentioned he was going to use it for a CCW, which would be the best use for it.

YOU are the one that got off on the 30-yard tangent. Who knows where the hell it came from.

I've had the pleasure of speaking to Virgil Tripp (the T in STI) personally and while he no longer owns a stake in the company he swears by their stuff and uses their frames etc in his own custom line of pistols. If it's good enough for him it's certainly good enough for me to bet my bacon on.

STI Escort

I currently own and carry an STI Escort, shoot it weekly and have never had a failure to fire or eject in over 3000 rounds.
STI makes very good and dependable 1911's.
Accuracy is better with this 3 inch barrel than with previous 5 inch Kimber models.

you will enjoy your STI>
