Sr1911?

Is the new Ruger SR1911 worth buying? The 800 dollar price tag is very attractive but is there something better in the same ballpark? Any info would be helpful.

List is 800, you can likely find it for mid-600. I consider it very tempting.

colt's 1911s. colt slides and frame are milled from billets. 500-600 tops is a fair price for what ruger is offering i would not pay over 600 for one considering its mainly investmemt cast.

just my opinion.

one good thing with rugers is if your pinned down and bored you can always read the warnings. take a few hours. i think there is more printing on a ruger than the library of congress...

I'm not crazy about their current style, but rumor has it that they will be adding other models and that might perk my interest a little more then. Right now I'm passing.

I haven't seen one, but I would guess they are about equal quality as the Springfields, as they are in the same price range and I've never seen Ruger put out anything of poor quality.

But that's just my uninformed opinion. :D

Thanks for everything! Haven't even found one to handle... let alone shoot or buy. We'll see once i can actually find one.
