looked at the springfield website this week. didnt see any GI models. did they do away with the GI model? i do own a GI model and it has been flawless for me. looks like the Mil-spec is their base model now

Yep, they're no longer making the GI. there's rumor that they're going to bring back their high capacity, buy I haven't found any kind of confirmation on that.

Idiot mark is a scratch on the frame behind the trigger from reinserting the side lock... pushing it in and it slips and scratches the gun
