Springfield 1911 vs. remington 1911

What are your guys thoughts on these two?

You need to be model specific.

IMO remmington makes some really poor quality 1911's.

I take exception to that statement.

I have the 1911 R1 GI and it is one solid $600 entry level 1911.

Yea its the r1 and the Springfield equivalent I forget what model it is.

Maybe it was just my experience with a few remmingtons. Or maybe im such a big wilson fan boy that my judgment is clouded lol.

Um is Kimber an option? I prefer the Springfield on a serious note.

I'd go with the Springer. I bought the R1 as a spec gun. Not sure it's going to appreciate much. Hindsight, I think the SA GI would have been a better choice.
