Springfield 1911

I have really noticed when I shoot my Springfield my recoil spring guide rod comes loose. I have been given suggestions to use locktite on it, but I am real sure if I should. Any remedies? Thank you.

Are you referring to a two-piece guide rod? If so, ditch it and go with a GI style guide rod. Problem solved indefinitely.

Yes the two piece one. I will try the GI rod. Thanks for the info.

I personally love how the guide rod looks when shot and finished. I would probably just lock it tighter until it really becomes trouble

You could place a spring washer on it. Ace is the place.....
