Hey guys, I found one new in box at my local gun shop and I really liked it. I'm wanting any and all input on this gun I'm really interested in it. I'm hoping to be able to buy it in a few weeks and just want you guys thoughts on it. I find this is the best place to get opinions. Thank for any input.
Springfield makes a fine 1911 and I have the Mil-Spec 1911A1. I love it and she performs like a champ all the time. The only problem I have with it is, because I have medium to small hands the arched mainspring housing makes it a little difficult to reach the slide release sometimes. That's just my hands though so other than that I love everything about the pistol.
"It's a gun you loaded on Sunday, and shot all week."
"If God didn't create man equal then Sam Colt had made them equal."
"Fast is fine, but accuracy is everything."
If you're comfortable with a 3" .45 ACP gun you should be happy with the Springer.
If you have not fired a 3" before and are familiar with the 1911 I need to warn you the compacts do not act like their longer barreled brothers. Not bad, just different requiring some skill embellishment.
Watch your thumb web for hammer bite! The compact GI model sure could use a beavertail grip safety. The short officers grip naturally forces your hand higher into the zone of pain.
