Springfield 1911 A-1
I just bought a Springfield .45 1911 model. And it's my first pistol I have owned. And I would like some feedback to know if I bought a quality pistol?

I have the milspec myself. You got a good gun. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.

Very good 1911 second only to colts way ahead of kimbers. The steel framed 1911s are made in brazil and they use better steel than a lot of the us made brands.

You've bought about the best fighting pistol ever designed from the year 1911 and by todays standard as your first pistol, as far as the SS your guess is as good as mine, SS usually stands for stainless steel, as far as the Springfield, its an excellent rendition of JMB 1911, and with its warranty you will have a functioning 1911 forever.

Fortunately, Springfield Armory makes a nice 1911. On those rare instances when there is something wrong, they have a reputation for very good service.

I have a Loaded model and while I only have 100 rounds through it, so far it is nicer than the RIA I traded. Is yours roll-marked US or Brazil. The SA 1911 line seems to have a good reputation and I wasn't hesitant to buy one.

Exactly what model is it? As far as I can recall, only some of the Milspecs these days are made in brazil. And to my knowledge, it's only the frame and slide forgings, while the rest of the gun is built and assembled here in the US.
If it's the one in your avatar pic, I believe you have an Amercan forged 1911. It's obviously not a Milspec.

Yes its the one in my pic. im not sure what y'all are talking bout when u say milspec. But the chamber says SA .45. And the side of the barrel says Springfield model 1911 A-1
