Parkerized is better than nothing, but it stains and wares away easier than cerakote. I have a SA MC Operator that is cerakoted that has about 800 to 1000 rounds threw it and their is no ware on the weapon. It's durable stuff. Parkerizing was good stuff when it came out several years ago, but it just could keep up.

It's ok, but I've read about cerakote and phosphate kotes and they stand against salt water sprays for over 200 hours without rusting. Parkerizing is better than stainless but it is an older finish. Just google cerakote, you'll be impressed, I am. Many colors, matte finish without bead blasting, it self lubes almost, and looks good.

I'd call 90-some-odd-years ago to be more than several years ago. Parkerizing is a very old method of finishing metal. A lot of improvements can be made in the span of 90 years.
