I did a search on this and a poster called Canebrake shows pics of a failure of an SA two piece barrel. I don't know how to post a complete showing of his post, so you will have to do your own search. And by the way, I have gotten confirmation that the E series will all have titanium firing pins.

If I search long enough, I can probably find a picture of a failure of just about any gun ever made - so what? Buy what you like, I'll continue to shoot my Springers along with many other satisfied folks...

I agree. SA's have an excellent rep. But just as some do not like the smith's because of their extractor, a 2 pc barrel is just a turn off to me. Anyway, they are all 1911s, and I love em.
