The whole investigation thing is a good reason not to use your best 1911 as an EDC. But it isn't a reason not to carry a 1911. Instead, it is just a reason to have more than 1, right?

Carrying a safe queen might not be the best idea. But it is just a gun, ultimately. I'd rather carry my most reliable gun and have it save my life, even if I lose it afterwards.

I can always buy a new gun, but can't buy a new life. (Nothing against an XD, though, Goju!)

And that is why I don't personally mix and match my carry pieces with my common shooting pieces.

I shoot mostly my 1911's and I carry only my 1911.

Another good point. I'll just stick to my xd40sc for carrying. If I forget to switch the safety on the 1911 I can revert back to my uber ninja death touch skillz.
