I'm seeing the sig 1911s at my local academy for 399 but I'm thinking this can't be the same one y'all are talkin about is there a lower grade 1911 sig makes?

Sig 1911's (the GS's) have a different slide shape than a standard 1911. Some holsters won't fit well. I had to reform my leather holsters to get them to fit. Serpa holsters fit a little tight, but they do fit.

You must have seen the .22 version. It is in that price range. The 45 ACP is a much higher priced gun.

Probably a .22.

Thanks all for your replies... I'm believing I can't go wrong with a Sig.

I own the Sig 1911 Stainless Steel Carry, 4.2" barrel. Can't say enough good about it. I have about 1000 rounds through it at this point and it has been totally trouble free.

Great fit & finish. Only thing I changed was the grips, put a Gadsden Flag set on.

A friend has 2 of them, a Scorpion 5" and a C3. Loves them both & they are both great shooters.

Sig makes an excellent quality 1911 for the money. In their price range, I'd put them above a lot of other "big names". My brother has a C3 and a Scorpion and my FIL has a Nitron Carry. All are extremely nice guns!

I shot a friend's C3 yesterday. Sweet pistol. I'm thinking a full size Sig 1911 is in my future.
