Sig sauer 1911 !?

Anybody like the idea of the new sig sauer 1911? I mean it looks very modern and 21st century but I think they are killing the classic 1911 look! It's bad enough with the front serration but a "modern" 1911? COME ON!!!

What model sig 1911 are you talking about they make about 2 dozen. the 1911 has been around for 100 years and it has been customized every way possible by hundreds of manufacturers can't believe you picked out just one modernized version to hate

EMTchad 08-12-2011 05:59 AM

Oh I wasn't hating on it, I mean the new 4 models that just came out. The 21st century models. They look like future pistols

I think they look ok, I've heard good things about the newer ones. But when they first came out with the GSRs, I heard they were crap. I am thinking about getting a sig 1911 Tac Ops.

Yeah the new models look bad arse but it's changing the classic look of a 1911 :(

It does change, but it will never replace it. The 1911 is a classic and a work horse. The US army really messed up replacing and to make it worse they did it with a beretta. Only thing good about berettas is the brothers use it in Boondock Saints.

Lol! Azn I believe you have just started a war

AznZOhAn 08-12-2011 04:54 PM

Not trying to start a war, the 1911 is a classic and a work horse. I like 1911s, and I actually enjoy seeing what different companies put out. The 100 years the 1911 has been around it has seen a lot of different changes, but none work as good as the basic design. Colt's classic design from John Browning is great, no need for double stack mags, front serrations, or picatiny rails, but the options are nice to have.

Sigs addition does look off a little, but as a gun and a shooter we should be open minded and just enjoy the experience of trying something and trying to master it. I have never shot or owned a Sig 1911, but I do own Sig pistols and they are great weapons.

Hopefully people can be open minded and understand that different people like different things. I have Colt and SA 1911 and I wouldn't mind adding a Sig 1911 Tactical Operations 1911 with a threaded barrel to my collections, but I got other things I want first. I got 2 AR projects I am planning out, barrel swap an AR I have now, and personalize one of my SA I have. So Sig can wait and hold onto their 1911 till I get around to it.

None of us drive a model t and everything evolves like it or not. I love 1911's if that was the only sidearm out there I would be perfectly content but they make different models and looks cause people buy them everything can stand a bit of freshening up.
