Sure, send it on over, I'll shoot you straight.

Plus a big one on the all steel frame. Big fan of that over the alloy.

I believe the Eclipse line comes a brushed finish, so the wear might be the finish and not in the steel itself...

Both of them are good guns though -

JD

There will be a time and place that you will need to pistol whip someone. When that day comes, you'll be glad you have a steel framed 1911 in your hand.

A word of warning though, black Kimbers have plastic MSHs these days. Be sure to swap it for a metal one. You don't want to crack your MSH on some d-bag's skull.

While I also agree with the idea of trading an XD over for a 1911, I urge you to sit and think on it for awhile.

Make sure that you REALLY want to do it for you dump that XD and all of that 9mm ammo.

That's a hard decision to make But probably a worthy sacrifice for a 1911... Knowing what I do now I probably wouldn't have gotten my xdm 9 and gotten another 1911 but I was awakened to them after the xdm purchase

Sgt, I value your opinion. Ammo is not a concern for me. My wife shoots a 38+p VERY well. I wanted to lead her into a semi auto but if she likes a wheel gun, I'm happy to feed it! I did stock pile some 9 because I had the gun. I don't like the caliber. I don't like it, my wife wont shoot it, the only reason I would keep it is because it is the most popular pistol round in the world. I enjoy shooting 45's much more. I'm still shopping, my mind isn't 100% made up.

Please speak up!!

And heeeeeeeeer's cane!

The only Colt/1911 you will NEED is the 4.25" Combat Commander! I would go with the Lightweight Enhanced Combat Commander.

^ Model O4860XSE Lightweight Combat Commander

^ Model O4012XSE SS Combat Commander

IF, you want true mouse gun CCW in 45 ACP and don't want to carry a bobby pin to field strip your PD gun consider one of these:

^ Colt New Agent 3"

^ Colt Defender

And then on to a 5" Gobmint!

^ Colt Rail Gun

Get her dirty, then clean her so she starts to respect you. When her trust is complete, she will serve you well for a lifetime!

Seriously, the pin has never been an issue for me. The bull barrel does make it easier to keep the muzzle on target though. I'm able to get follow up shots off faster with my Compact than I'm able to with a Commander.

The Defender and New Agent both have Bull Barrels. And NO pins!

Dump the 9mm. I just got a Colt Defender and love it. Plus it gives my Colt Commander someone to play with. 1911's rule.
