actually Colt does have a 1911 that is DA, the New Agent model with a 3" barrel.

Don't know why anyone would want a DA 1911 but someone must??

Here's a FS 5" DA from Colt, the model O1991DA;

Try a S&W 645, it's sort of like a Beretta 92 in 45 ACP caliber.

Now if i could afford a coonan .357 then yeah, sa is fine, lol, i dont know why, i just like sa/da over either one or the other. Ill shoot more 1911 before i ever a actually go out and buy one of any onfig, til that day comes my ruger service six will work just fine.

Never seen a DA/SA but had a Para "1911" DAO in 9mm & it wer SLICK

If you have to have a D/A in a .45acp The HK USP Compact is a really good choice. It also comes in .40S&W I have both they have both never failed in any way.
