can you tell year of manafacture of a sa 1911 from the serial no.

If by chance it's a Dan Wesson, the serial numbers always have the model followed by the year of manufacture, followed by the number that weapon is in the production run of that year, then CZ. Example C09034CZ is CCO made in 09 and is number 34 in the production of that year.
Other makers don't make it that easy though. :p
