hey guys,got a new rock island armory 1911 cs.ben carrying it on my waist outside my pants,but under my sports coat.Anyway the brass rivet on my back pocket left a brass or copper colored dot on the end of the slide.grrrrr,what is the best way to clean that up/off my guy suggested a tooth brush and solvent?any thoughts would sure help.thanks,steven

I would try that. Get used to it though. If ur gonna carry it will get scratched n dirty. It is a gun after all. Good luck bro.

If you scrub the mark until it's gone you will wind up with a finish that shows where you scrubbed.

Leave it there and wear it as a badge of courage! Be glad its a small fault....it could be worse.

To fix gun blemishes you must refinish them. That will cost you a minimum of $250 including shipping and labor.

Its a gun for Christ's sake. If you take a safe queen out of the safe.....it's no longer a safe queen.

(Riveted pant pockets with a sports coat? You deserve to scratch your gun.)

haha,ok thanks for the ribbing on my pants.lol.i work at a western wear store(wrangler jeans)and have to dress the part.western sport coat to.dang man i thought i was stylin....haha thanks guys,steven

I have used a pencil eraser on some brass marks with good results.
But, IMO, a pristine SD firearm is a sign that could be read that the owner does not carry or practice much. I want a BG to see a well used weapon so he believes that I may know what I doing.

Keep the mark and add more.
