Just an FYI but McCormick mags are far from high end. I use them myself as range mags but they aren't near the quality of Wilson or Tripp...

Well, at 30 bucks a mag, CM mags are far from low end. My point is though, you guys need to quit thinking AND advising that it is usually the magazine that is at fault. Sometimes, the gun needs to go back. I took the magazine advice first and wasted 2-3 weeks mucking around with various magazines when the gun should have just been sent back to begin with.

9 out of 10 issues with firearms ftf its either a bad magazine (which is most often the case) or limp wristing. you were just that #10. sometimes guns just need a little love they didnt get before being shipped. no one here has your gun in hand. if i had it i woulda tried various mags which i have on hand and i know work on various 1911's. i dont think ive ever paid more than 15$ for a 1911 mag. the majority of my 1911 mags have been knocking around since ww2.

my point is the folks that gave ya the advice about mags were on the right track since that is most often the case. my last resort is always in sending a gun back to the manufacturer for repair. glad ya got it fixed.

Disclaimer: If the firearm is under warranty I would not do any work on it or let anyone else touch it. Send it back.

I had a Kimber Pro Crimson Carry II that did the same thing. Look at the face of the slide in the firing pin bushing area for rough spots or just a rough texture. The last round in a magazine presents at a different angle than all the other rounds, and just a little bit of roughness on that flat surface can cause the round to hang.

Exactly Doc3402. The way I figure it, if you try 5 or 6 different mags and the problem still persists, it's gotta be something other than the magazine. If that's the case, buying magazines that cost a lot of money won't matter. Send the darn thing back!!!!
