The new Ruger 1911 started looking really interesting at $799 msrp.

I was at Scheels in Iowa City today. They have one in their case and are taking names to get on the list for when they get them in. Price is $699.

Now that's looking really interesting.

A fairly accurate description, and I would add the highest concentration of liberal bias and inane rule making in the state.

My first two years of college were at the University of Iowa (until I got smart). They actually passed a city ordinance when I was there in 1985 making Iowa City a "nuclear weapon free zone". They actually put up the signs below at the entrances to the city.

Nope. It is no joke. They actually passed it.

So... DO NOT go packing your suitcase nuke in Iowa City. If you are caught, it is a Class 1 misdemeanor. You will spend the night in jail and be hit with a hefty fine.

Yes it is reciprocal in Iowa. But make sure you fly into Cedar Rapids, NOT the Quad Cities (Moline). The QC airport is in Illinois across the river, and IL is not keen on concealing nuclear weapons whether you have a permit or not.

You would probably spend a few days in jail, maybe weeks. You could be charged with a felony for concealing a weapon. And you will certainly lose your nuke and won't get it back.

I recently bought my SR1911 for 600.00 at a local gunshop. However, the price just jumped to 629.00. I bet there will be another price increase soon.

The SR1911 is a nice looking handgun.
