In the 1911 world there are two items tied for first place in FEED ISSUES (FTF), Magazines and/or Ammo. If you follow the above "New Gun Test" and use 230 gr Ball Ammo for this test you can be sure you are not introducing variables that only cause you to chase your tail trying to resolve.

LOl. A new gun should shoot no matter what. Mag issues and ammo are the problem as you say most of the time. If it's not that then send the gun in as something is wrong. I need to try tripp, but haven't yet but will.

I just got mine a couple weeks back and love it. Had the same issue for the first couple mags. It happens because of Ruger's mag followers. If you slap the mag into the magwell the first round will jump forward in the mag just a bit. (no more than a gnats ass) And that's more than enough for the extractor to miss the round and you have a miss feed.

It's similar to what happens with AR's when people beat the mags into them.

A rule that I was taught young was, after loading a magazine slap the back of it against your palm so all of the rounds seat properly. You'll see less problems. Much like I did.

Wilson combat mags are always a good investment as well though! Can never have enough of those!

Try using one less round in the mag. Could be spring tension since it occurs with 1st roumf

Got my SR1911 about 6-8 months ago. Never had any issues. Eats up whatever ammo you put through it.

I'm sorry, I don't believe you. The Ruger 1911 is a myth. If it existed, I'd have mine by now.
