have owned two of the American Classics, the first a blued Government model which i traded to a close friend. great pistol. fit and finish were very good, decent accuracy and functioned with any ammo i used. my second one is the Commander i currently have and was bought for a modification project i wanted to do. again, decent accuracy, very well made and functions with any ammo i have used so far.
like the RIA's, they are also made in the Philipine Islands. also like the RIA's, they are an amazing value in 1911's. comparison wise they are every bit the equal to the RIA's, with the only downside being the RIA's do come in more calibers.
