Default Rock Island vs. American Tactical Imports

I am looking to find a Rock island 1911 .45ACP in a commander or officer size. Just looking to hear from anybody who owns either of these. I was set on the RIA but found an ATI at a local shop that looked and felt good. I just havnt heard much of this company. I would like to hear all compliments or concerns from either gun and there maker.

I have only looked at a Rock Island pistol for about 10 minutes so far but have four ATI pistols if you count the GSG 1911 22lr which they sell. I have nothing but good things to say for the ATI pistols. Wouldn't hesitate to buy another when the urge strikes. As far as the Rock Islands go, they feel great and look great also, probably would buy one if the price was right.

They cost around $400-$500 I would say that the price is always right on those.

My RIA 45 GI model runs like a champ. It's hard to believe sometimes I only paid $399 for it. I'd buy another one in a heartbeat!

I have the RIA CS Compact. It has not had one failure to fire, feed, or eject since I got it a year ago. Great guns at great prices.

The RIA guns are great guns FOR the money. The cs is a really nice gun and is my daily carry. The ATIs are also nice guns but don't know about CS on them. The CS on RIA is excellent. Just call Ivan and he will fix you right up.

I have the full sized RIA and I have the commander style ATI. Love them both and absolutely no problems from either one once they were broke in.

That's a pretty Rock there limbkiller! I just can't make up my mind between the compact and the commander. I see alot of love from the RIA owners out there just not as much from the ATI owners. I can either order the RIA online or pick up an ATI commander at a local shop for 460 OTD. I just hate to settle for the ATI when I have been set on the RIA...

My brother has a .45acp RIA and I really like. It seems to fit nice into my hand and seems like a pretty straight shooter and I like the safety mech in the backstrap of the grip.
