rock island armory officers 1911 .45

I have been looking to buy a 1911 and have been hesitant to spend the money for the Sig. I have been looking at the RIA 1911 for a while, just curious if anybody has advice or a range report, any input is appreciated and thanks in advance.

I own one & highly recommend the RIA
If you do a search here you'll find a lot of recent threads on the subject :)

If you can find one, high standard is another very well built philippino 1911 in the same price range.

While ordering my xdm 3.8 45c last night my shop let me take an ria back to shoot. I loved it and shot 50 rounds. Extremely accurate at any distance, especially for me LOL. Just a joy to shoot. I see one in my future.

I also see one in my future, now just to find the best place to buy one.

How do those shorter barrels handle. Much recoil and if there is, does it flip or push? Just curious. Thanks.

My first 1911 was a gift from my wife which is a RIA 1911a2 which is a double stack version; holds 14 in the mag. I love this gun! My brother owns a single stack version. I can tell u with at least 3000 rounds in the last year I had no failures. I highly recommend for a decent price accurate gun. I consistently get great groupings. U can see my range testing/days on YouTube (search rugerjazzkohai). It is my home defense but used to be my carry. I've only shot a 5 inch barrel for the RIAs but would not go below a 3 inch. I own other 1911s that cost double to triple what the RIA cost but it's still on my will not sell/trade ever list.
