Default Rock Island armory 1911

I've always wanted a 1911 but not the price tag that comes along with it. I've seen RIA 1911 for hundreds cheaper, any thoughts or feedback on them?

I love it. Eats whatever I feed it and I find it is more accurate than my glock. Just make sure you buy a good carry belt. She gets a bit heavy by the end of the day.

Mine has had some teething problems & had to go in for warranty, but it is the 'Government' 4" because I wanted a plain Jane type 1911 & also prefer the shorter barrel. Others that bought the upgraded series, such as the Tactical, don't seem to have the same issues. I'd say, if you get one, don't go with the Government series & stay with the full size.

They do give good customer service if you do have a problem.

It might be time for a RIA sticky. They're probably the best "entry level" 1911 out there.
