Good, reliable, accurate, and cheap 1911, you won't be disappointed for the price.

The one I just looked at on Buds Guns looked like a decent gun for 414.

Ok thanks for the info

If an entry level 1911 is what you're looking for you will be hard pressed to do better than a RIA.

I have 2 kimber 1911s but I don't want to spend another 1000 bucks on one, so I'm leaning towards the ria, never shot one so I wanted some input on it before I spend the money on one

The RIA is a damn good 1911, Armscor also makes the High Standard "which i have". Mine has been 100% with over 1,300rds through it. I just had a close friend buy one and he is very happy with his too. Best $500 that ive ever spent.

I've heard nothing but good about RIA and High Standards. Many people will actually compare them to Colts, and Kimbers, and a lot of the time they will say that they are better. I've never handled a 1911, so I wouldn't know. Trip said that he held a High Standard a few weeks ago and that it felt like the slide was on ball bearings.
When I get my first 1911, it will probably be either the HS or the RIA. :D

I had a gi issue colt 1911 stolen. I'm planning on getting a RIA for a replacement. I would much rather get a colt however need a new pistol faster than I can save up for the replacement colt. I shot one last weekend its not a colt but its not 1500 either

All mine needed was better grips, and more ammo.
