Well, I would like to know where to find an "entry level Kimber" for around $100 or slightly more than an RIA, especially in the state of NC.

I can tell you where you can get one in NC. for less than 700.
What area of the Piedmont. I kind find you a Kimber for right at $650.
I know places.

I can get you a deal down in Wilmington on a Kimber. Though I don't think you would be disappointed with The RIA as a good start, Can always trade up. As I said before my RIA is a very nice Pistol that shoots great.

Thanks, but I am not quite ready to go as far as Wilmington to buy a Kimber. Maybe in the Spring of 2010 but right now I will stay close to W-S. I have an RIA, I am very satisified with it but would be willing to add a Kimber to my stable for a reasonable price. I sure do not like the $1,000 or higher price tags that I have seen on the Kimber brand and on other "high quality" 1911's.

I was at the local gun store this past weekend...they were having a "used gun sale". Saw a nice M1911A1 made by Remington Rand for 499 bucks. In great shape, tight slide. The deals are out there, you just gotta look for them.

I know, I know...I put it down and the next guy picked it up and kept working the slide, etc then bought it.
It was the best shape Remington Rand I've ever seen. Perfect.
