Default Ria first timer

took the RIA 1911cs to the range this week.shot pretty good.put 200 thru with no problems.Beat my hand up pretty good though.bought some houge grips the next day.hopefully it helps a little?also i shot high and to the left,consistently.my dad says it sounds like im using the whole finger to pull the trigger,instead of my finger tip.what do yall think?suggestions?thanks....steven

If you're consistent its a good start. You always want to rule out human error before messing with sights.

Sounds like you could be jerking the trigger, always use a consistant squeeze, the gun going off should be a surprise everytime. Whenever you jerk the trigger,you are also changing the position of the muzzle

You should just be using the pad of your finger anyways. It'll help out in the future but not for what the problem is now

A thing Jeff Cooper taught was the surprise trigger break. Watch this video and i promise you it'll help with the pushing.
