RIA 2011 Tactical II VZ grips single stack recommendation

Ok. First 1911, not a huge over the top have to have the very best of the best of the best. Love the way it looks, love the removable sights to upgrade later, love the feel in my hand, and price is right on my budget. I cant go higher, and I like what it comes with. I know theyre made in the Phillipines, or parts of them, and I think they are cast. Im an AR guy that wants a ctacticool budget cant beat it for the price 1911 that doesn't care so much about the history and Im not a mil spec monkey. At least with handguns. Just looking for advice and reviews it anyone has it. Like the bottom rail too. Help me! Im stressed out already haha

10mm or .45?

I have the 10mm and love it! It had some feeding issues early on, but I polished the feed ramps and it improved. One of the most accurate 1911's I have shot to date. RIA customer service is good too.

What price are you looking at?

I read that the frames at least are investment cast. Not exactly sure what that translates to tho. Im not a fan of the bottom rail so I didnt go that route. But I will say that my .45 (full size tactical) runs like a champ, with all ammo that ive tried. Ive read that RIAs dont have great springs but havent had any issues yet so i dont know.
I would like to try out the 10mm. Im sure Id like it.

The one gun that I regret selling is my RIA.
I used it for my EDC for over a year. I trusted it with my life. I never had a single issue with it.
You can't beat them for the money.

Thanks. Yes, the .45 def. 10mm seems cool but I've never shot that round. Gotta have the bottom rail for looks haha I'm looking around the 550-600 mark

Good price. The 10mm's are going for about $700 around here. Not sure about the .45's.

Get ya one, great shooter and a great value. I bought my RIA Tactical 9mm before the VZ option was available. I made two changes to mine, Hogue wrap around grips and had a fiber optic sight installed to replace the stock sight.

The VZ option RIA comes with a fiber optic sight.

The 2011 with the full rail is not yet available in 10mm. The 10mm is only available in the Tac 2 model. $700 is ridiculously high. I have sold probably a half dozen at $545.

The 2011 Tac 2 in .45 with the VZ grips and upgraded sights is a great gun. I had one for a while and regret selling it. Very smooth and very tight fitting gun.

The ones our local deal had for sale were in the $560 range for a tac II 45. GI $408, and FS tac $468. Shp smart. Don't let a dealer shaft ya. Personaly I would rather have the match version

I have no use for the rail on any of my 1911s.

The first thing I would recommend is to change all springs on some of the lower costing 1911s, even before shooting the first time.

A spring kit from Brownells is not expensive and could avoid some problems during break-in period.
