Dummy huh!! cute. You started shooting at 40 years old? mmm??!! Yes I got the post before you deleted it. I started at 4 and I am 40 now. I had the lasik doen at 29 because I could not see at all w/o my 4 lb glasses. WAB that was.
Anyway I wasa still just giving my opinion to the OP about my experience with the RIA 1911. I have the tactical and since I like it so much I am going to get the GI model in 21 days and just throw a comabt hammer on it because I do no like the hammer bite I have gotten from the Colt. The customer service I have recieved from Armscor has been excellent. they have been prompt about returning my emails and when I call they are quick to pick up the phone. They are also very knowlegdable about their product. I have only had so much contact with them because of the alterations I have done to the gun. I wish the tactical did not come with a ambi safety or a FL guide rod. I may even get the compact one for carry. I was thinking about the M&P for carry but with the reliability of the RIA 1911 and the price its jest a better deal. I do own a few Glocks and really like them but, there is something about holding that steel gun that Glock just does not have.

Does anyone make a 1911 with a polymer frame?

K305 Is that the so dreaded and feared G-911

vector How can you assumed I had only been shooting for a short time is beyond me. I have been a long time shooter before 40, noted in a post earlier. Then stated 17 years later eyes are only average. So you assume. Now remember 40 + 17 is 57.

I pulled my first trigger at 6 years of age. Hunted for the first time for deer at 13, killed my first hog with a dan Wesson 357mag revolver in 1976. Did not start wearing glass's till 17 years ago . I was try'n to give you a complement on great eye sight but seems you suspect something fishy. That when you get all werd with your comprehension skills and start assuming.

Personal I will not use a 1911 for a CC handgun. To many light higher cap pistols out there that are reliable for carry duty that are at least as reliable as a mil spec 1911. But that's another tread. Look up a still ongoing 300,000 round torture test on a gen2 1988 glock 17 by Chuck Taylor. Easier to find the story at 100,000 and 200,000 but look. Plenty of other guys try'n to screw up a glocks in there own version of abuse. Then think about a 1911 going thru that kind of test. No I don't own a glock any more ether.

You're going to love it. After you clean all the factory grease out of it rub it down with some white lithium grease or ATF. The parkerizing will soak it up and lose that chalky look.

ATF- automatic transmission fluid!! maybe

I started using some new products on slides some some back instead of just clp. Seems over time all belonged to one company . For pistols slide and wear areas Pro-Shot Zero Friction. There 1 step for general cleaning and pro gold on bolt lugs and heavy recoil or wear needs.
