Well fantastic then thanks! It was just so much looser than the other ones. There was an American Classic I directly compared it too and the Remingtons slide and tirgger both and more movement than the American Classic. This gun is MUCH more attractive which is why I bought it. I know Remington doesnt make bad guns either, and I am unfamiliar with the other brand.

Like I said I am still totally happy with it. Going to shoot it in an hour or so!

i have three 1911's. the R1 Enhanced, a SA Micro Compact 45 and an American Classic Commander. the R1 has the loosest trigger, the SA is a little tighter and the Commander has the least. as long as it functions as it's suppose to, i will more than likely never change it.

the American Classic is a very good pistol. i am on my second and would not hesitate in the least to recommend them to a first time buyer or someone looking for one to customize like i did. very well made pistols and one of the underdogs in the 1911 world.

Great, thanks for the information. Just went out to shoot it and It shot great. A few fte's but I did not clean it from the factory and from what I understand these require a break in period. A good cleaning now and I think it will be a great gun.

How so you like your r1? I am still unimpressed with the trigger but I can live with it. Just means I will get another later lol

should be ready to run right out of the box. mine was. theonly ammo i had any problem with, was some cast lead reloads i picked up at a gunshow. but in all fairness, they didn't work in the other two either. have run factory ammo and my reloads with no problems. clean it well and it should be fine. what ammo were you using?

love my R1 Enhanced! great pistol, well made and finished, very accurate and works very well. i wouldn't hesitate in either recommending it to someone aor buying another. you'll get use to the trigger. i did over 25 years ago!

Sweet! Yeah seems like a great gun. I forgot which ammo I will post back tomorrow and let you know. I shot two kinds. I might need to adjust the sight. I didn't shoot paper just some cans I was constantly shooting a little left though at least 10-15 yards or so. Need to throw up some paper and dial her in.

Aftermarket triggers do require fitting.
What you have is an undersize shoe (where your finger rests). This can be taken care of at a later date.

Get to know her, love her, shoot the heck out of her. She will tell you what is not correct.

After a while, start to adorn her with aftermarket parts that you so lovingly fit for her alone.

Okay great, thanks.

I also have a little side to side slide movement. Its small, and I cant guess at the measurment. Is that something to worry about? Will that affect accuracy?

I was shooting remington FMJs and PMC JHPs, I forgot to post that sooner.

There is this thing called trigger take up. It is when you "take up" the slack in the trigger before it activates the sear.
This should not have any effect on the accuracy.

If it does bother you, you can replace the trigger. The aftermarket trigger will require that the shoe be fitted to the opening. That will remove most of the movement you feel now.

Ha I apologize, That last post was not meant for the trigger. I posted it on my phone so sometimes I do it too fast and I dont get a chance to read what I said but I have side to side movement on the slide. The slide is what I was referring too.

Thanks for the information on the shoe though. It doesnt bother me now after I shot it.

First off, you should've thorughly cleaned and lubed before firing it.
Second, the R1 does not require a break-in. If it don't work for any reason after cleaning and lubing, senr it back to the factory.
Third, if you suspect the trigger is not right send it back to the factory.
Their Customer Service has always treated me right. Don't go monkeying with it or it could void your warranty.
