A friend asked questions at the Remington booth at the NRA Charlotte convention with the following info:

The M1911R1 is made in the USA (completely), no MIM parts, and precision-cast frame. Looks to be a very good value for the price.

I'll provide a full eval when mine gets here.

This makes Remington only the second manufacturer to design and produce a handgun, shotgun, and rifle. The other is FNH.

I think I might be leaning towards Remington as far as if I had to own one of each, but from only one manufacturer.

Remington R1, Remington 887 Nitro Mag Tactical, Remington ACR

FN FNP-45 Tactical, FN SLP Tactical, FN SCAR

I dont know, its a tough call. I'll take em all.

Ruger makes handguns, shotguns, and rifles. I'm only aware of one shotgun they make though (red label) they're pretty sweet.

I stand corrected. Thats what I get for taking FNH's videos as truth without research. I would say my deal breaker with Ruger would be their pistol. My requirement would be that it has to be a .45. I havent shot the P345, but I have shot 2 of their 9mm's, you couldnt give me one.

yeah, but someone sure could give me Ruger's Red Label shotgun though.

Has anyone heard of a June ship date for the Remmy 1911R1's?
My local dealer has heard nothing.
