I believe this is on the cover of one of the new issues of one of the gun rags. If not the cover, at least a story, or maybe just an ad. Cant remember.

Dang, that looks great and affordable too. But we need more details!

Looks like a direct competitor with the Springer Mil-Spec. Same 3 dot sights and flared & lowered ejection port, price is about the same as well. I do find it odd that they chose a flat MSH though. In one of the pix, the front sight looks dovetailed, a big plus if it is. It will be interesting to see how these stack up quality wise...

I'll let someone else buy it and test it.

That's just where they are distributed. Doesn't mean they are made there.

Funny this topic got posted...I was at Wal*Mart this morning to get shotgun shells for this weekend shoot...while walking past the magazine rack I noticed the new "Shooting Times" jumping out at me. I thumbed through the rag then bought it with my 12ga. shells. I'm a BIG Remington fan as most know. A little info from the article to share with ya'..."The grip safety is the standard short government model variety-no beavertails here. The 1911R1 components are made in-house by Remington. Carlos Martinez, Remington's production manager, advises that the grip safety currently on the pistol is thumbed, but the production guns will feature a beveled safety." Just skimming through the article it seems that the 1911R1 is still in prototype stage with no production release date. When these come out I'm buying one!!!
