Great Gazooks NGIB!!! Darned near 7000 posts on this forum makes you a vet in a couple of different ways--Congrats to you for serving our great country.
Like minds tend to think alike and we've been alive long enough to have seen plenty of junk guns come down the pike. I've been a Kansas hunter education instructor for over twenty years and teach firearms basics, handguns, muzzleloaders and survival. I also served as a boy scout leader for 12 years when my older boys were growing up. A couple of my old scouts work for the same company I do and they're quite successful.
I really push people to to obtain good quality guns. A poor quality firearm in the field can ruin a hunt and cause serious safety challenges but a defective defensive weapon will get you killed quicker than a muzzle flash. It scares me when I see fellow concealed carry license holders staking their lives on substandard equipment. I always offer my two cents and have actually escorted a few back to the land of the sane.
