Default Red jacket 1911

Friend of mine called me to his house to see his new 1911. As from the title it was from red jacket. After i put about 8 mag through it, it was solid function was good no issues with it at all. But in the back of my mind i kept thinking my rock, citadel, and sig shoots about the same. I was really not impressed. He spent $1,800.00, and its not a colt or any kind of good custome. Has anybody else shot or handeled one. Maybe its just me but i was not impressed. I was told that basically they r just assembling them no real custom work to speak of, is this true.

I checked one out and have the same opinion as you.

Some people have too much money, and do too little research.

Just say "Nice firearm. When ya wanna go shooting?"

I thought it was a Red Fox custom, it would be better quality.

It's built on a STI frame. Not a bad thing, but I'd rather have an STI for less money and a shorter wait. That waiting period (12 to 18 weeks, depending on choice) seems a bit much for that class of 1911.
For similar money, I'd prefer the Dan Wesson Specialist or maybe start looking at Les Baers. In that price class they are against some pretty tight competition. Like it or hate it, it had better be a good pistol.
FWIW, I suppose it does have some novelty value. Should last longer than a cap or a t-shirt.

An STI gun that is way overpriced. All these jackasses do is screw up a good gun and then sell it. When they 1st posted the gun it was 1550 then a few idiots decided that they had to have one and the price went up. Why buy from these clowns.
