Recommended Spare Parts?

Howdy! As posted in an earlier thread, I just picked up my first 1911 (Sig). I'm curious what parts (if any) people recommend having spares of. Not that I'm expecting anything to break, just maybe things that get easily lost during takedown, or just cheap insurance. Thanks in advance!

I'm not big volume shooter, but I have yet to break a part. 1911s are not hothouse flowers, contrary to what is stated in some circles.

A lot will depend on your mechanical ability and the limitations of your knowledge. Using due care will keep part launches to a minimum. If your still not comfortable, field strip in a box or bag so things stay in the area. For day to day use, you really shouldn't need much more than Recoil & possibly Firing pin springs. Wolff sells them in sets.

Now, if your a high volume competitor, that will change things a bit.

Springs, Firing pin, sear and hammer pins, extra sear, extra hammer.

You won't need any. I've been shooting 1911s for 30 years and never saw one fail.

Those that I read about were tampered with. Shoot it and clean it once in a while.
