A month ago I would have told you that I would never get rid of my XD as it serves it's purpose. Today I was trying to decide whether it was going to be the XD or the P226 that was going to be sacrificed in order to help fund a 5" Nighthawk. Gawd damn.
I am starting to see why so many "discover" this platform (1911) and forsake all others.

I guess I'll just have to stick with my "ol junky homemade" 1911s that I got to build myself.

Bear, anytime you want to get rid of your "ol junky homemade" 1911's be sure to give ol canebrake a call. I'll buy every one you want to get rid of!

I might just do that if I ever need to sell some of them or if I have order cancellations. Once in a while, somebody will have me build 1 for them and when I get it done, can't come up with the rest of the $. I'll let you know and post pics when I do. Neil

I promise her I'll be a good boy all the while scheming to place another order all the while. Occasionally I have to sell 1 of these ol home made pistols even before I build it-that means stooping down to build whatever parts/style/type/level the mean ol buyer wants, it's the only way I've found to support my serious habit. Sounds like you have a GREAT pistol and am interested in seeing some slow fire targets, just to see what it'll do.

Great range report.
Another satisfied 1911 shooter. I am in the same boat. I have thought about getting rid of my XD to get another 1911 platform also. I do like the XD, though. I like having a polymer "Glock-Killer" around...lol.

If you like your XD then hang onto it & buy another 1911 down the road. I'd hate to see you part with it & experience "seller's remorse" later. I've decided some time ago that I'm never going to sell another of my own personal firearms. I do plan on giving several away to my son/daughter/nephew however.
